Our Family Pictures: Updates

Okay, well I was waiting to post more updates until we found something more out about Justin's health. However, I am quickly learning that we could be waiting for a long time so I decided to just post! As many of you know the injection did not work, it actually made it worse - Even with a trip to the ER his appointment for the 7th didn't get moved up. However, at the appointment he did finally get his referral to the surgeon; however, when he went to schedule his appointment they told him that since his MRI is older than 6 months he needs to get that first... well, they can't refer him to get one and the CG Dr's want the Army folks to do it since that is who he is seeing and the Army Physical Medicine people already referred him out so they are not returning any calls. So he is getting the run around from everyone! He is being a trooper though... still in LOTS of pain and still managing to get up and go to work everyday. His spirits are so-so; the calls from family and friends really make all the difference in the world- so make sure you keep calling!

During the month of September/early October we have been busy with daily life. Tropical storm Hannah wasn't as bad as they predicted, there was some flooding in the lower lying areas of our neighborhood but nothing to big. Courtney and his daughter Corrine came for a quick night visit. It was really good for Justin and Katelyn to have their friends here for a night. Margret wasn't able to come because she was studing for her big test (she is in an advanced Medical school program). She was missed but I know we will see them all again soon! We made one final trip to Kings Dominion with Katelyn - Maddie went with us and the girls had a good time! Justin went one other time with Bert and Savannah so they could do the haunted houses- he was smart enough not to go on any rides this time!

As I am sure all of you know Katelyn is moving forward with her "Katelyn's Quest". She has asked that anyone who wants to help her save their change. Also the internet shopping link will help the family out. I added all the links our web page incase anyone loses it they can always access it from here! Thank you to everyone who provided suggestions on fundraising activities and also thank you for everyone who helps even if it is just sending on the links it is greatly appreciated!

So Katelyn is doing well in school. She loves it! She loves the girls in the class: Hailey, Erin and Jade. Man, I don't know how her teacher Mrs. Lisa does it though... out of the 10 kids there are 6 boys - 5 of who have special needs and 4 of whom have autism. I was told Katelyn is a good helper... she holds Scheck's hand (one of the boys with Autism) when they do line things and goes places. She also tends to be a leader by telling the kids to "Calm Down - its okay" when it gets to loud. Anyone who has witness Katelyn doing this can only imagine the teacher going through the hand motions and facial expressions while laughing as she explained it to me!

Well that’s it for now... there will be more updates as the month progresses. We have a school trip to the pumpkin patch, a mile run, school pictures, and a fall party all still to come this month!
