October

We had a very busy October! Between ball games, Grandma and Grandpa visiting, being sick, school stuff, girl scouts, and Halloween stuff we managed to stay very active this month! Baseball finished up on the 24th, and Katelyn was so excited to get her trophy! She can't wait to play again!!! This month is going to be a lot less crazy, but just as much fun. We are leaving for our Disney Cruise on the 18th and won't be back home till the 23 (the cruise is only from the 19-22)but we will be gone for a week - Yippie our first real vacation!

We miss all of you so much, and now that the holidays are coming up, it makes it a lot harder. Please know we think about all of you often and hope that you all are doing well. Keep sending us updates, emails, pictures and calls it means a lot!

Love you lots!!!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!!! We hope you all had a wonderful and safe Halloween. We had a nice day, the weather was perfect trick-or-treating weather (well except for a few rain drops later in the evening), but the temperature was perfect! Katelyn dressed up as Hannah Montana and started out the night by going to chick-fil-a for a free kids meal and a treat bag! Then she went to her friends Erin, Jade and Taylor's house to drop off Taylor's birthday present - on the way back to the truck she stopped at a few houses. Then when we got back to our neighborhood she went trick-or-treating with Jack, Maddie and Madeline. Layla and I decided it was a little sad that this would be their last year trick-or-treating together since we would both be moving next summer, but we were glad that they were able to do this one last time together! after getting more than enough candy Katelyn and maddie passed out candy at our house (we put the awning out on the motorhome and sat underneath it so we didn't get wet). Justin decorate a little and it made for a great Hallow night!

Trunk or Treat 10-30

Friday Night Katelyn went to Trunk-or-Treat with Jack & Maddie at their Church. She had a great time. She got her face painted, played games, got a balloon animal and of course got some yummy candy (mostly peanut buttercups). It was a great night and we are really thankful that we have such wonderful neighbors who are also great friends who let Katelyn go with them places!

Class field trip 10-27

Katelyn went on her first class field trip on Tuesday October 27th to the belevedere plantation. I was able to go along with them :) We had a lot of fun, even though it rained all night prior to leaving and sprinkled on and off during the day - we had a great time on the trip... We went on a hayride to pick our perfect pumpkin, then we got to swing on the rope swings, learned about bees and the difference between boy and girl pumpkins, and had lunch outside... On the bus we learned how to get semi-trucks to beep their horns at us!!

Final Trip to Kings Dominion 10-25

Well, as the cold is starting to get here it means that kings dominion will be ending it's season. It officially closes today (November 1st)and since it is raining we made our final trip there last Sunday:( Since we will be moving next year we probably made our last trip there (for at least 3 years). It was a little sad, and Katelyn cried... especially as she rode her favorite horsey "princess"(the only horse she would ever ride on the carousel). But we had a good day, and when we were there we ran into one of the boys who played on her baseball team, and they rode the pirate ship a few times together!!! Justin tried the avalanche, and he had no neck pain - so he is confident that his roller coaster days will be back again!

Grandpa Mike & Grandma Maryann Visit

This month started out with Grandpa Mike and Grandma Maryann visiting. We had a great time, and we hope that they did too. It was fun to spend time with family, it seems like its been awhile since we've had visitors so it was nice having them around. As always it was hard when they left, Katelyn was a mess, but she made it through and is doing well now. We were able to go to Clark's (pumpkin play place)with them, and Taylor and Jade Buckles got to come with us, so fun was had by all!

First t-ball game

Well, after a couple of unsure practices, I am excited to announce that there might be hope yet that Katelyn will be a ball player :-) She did really well at her first game (well about as good as any 5 yr old can do)! She knew what she was doing but most importantly she had FUN! She interacted with the girls a little more and as far as the boys... well, she didn't let them intimidate her! The real challenge will be this week, when she has 3 games along with going to school and girl scouts. She is a bit busy right now, but I am glad she is staying busy with a variety of activities and having fun doing them all.
