Our Family Pictures: Updates, Updates, Updates

It is so hard to believe that there are only 13 days left in the 2008 year. Where has this year gone? It really does not seem like it is almost the start of 2009.

Well, as promised there are more updates. Not to much has actually happened since the last post, but I figured with us going to NC this weekend and Christmas in a week I should post now so that there are not SOOOO many pictures with the next post. This past weekend Katelyn and I had a flu bug - YUCK! She was feeling well enough on Saturday to go to Taylor's Birthday Party; unfortunately I had to go sit in the car. The party was at the indoor pool and Katelyn and the other girls had a really good time. I think we might go there more often just to get some time in the pool this winter. Justin and Katelyn attempted to make some chocolate chip cookies on Sunday, but unfortunately they did not turn out so well... the darn oven burnt the cookies! We had much better luck making sugar cookies together. Katelyn is always the preparer - which means she is the one who gets to pour the ingredients as well as stir! We will be frosting the cookies later tonight.

Yesterday, Justin had his surgeon appointment - it went okay! He has his surgery scheduled for the 27th of February - as of right now they are planning to do a double discectomy in his C4/C5 and C5/C6 vertebrae. They may also decide to do the T1 as well, but we are waiting for the neurologist to meet with Justin on the 13th of January to discuss some of his issues so the neurologist can work with the Neurosurgeon. The Neurosurgeon is convinced Justin needs surgery he is still concerned however, about all the issues he is having and is a little worried that the surgery may not stop all the pain, because there are other things going on as shown in the EMG. So that is where we are at - at least tentatively for now.

Katelyn had her Christmas Party at school today. She had a really good time; they made crafts, sang songs, opened presents and ate. She got each of the kids a little bag, and she was so excited to pass them out to everyone - she was Santa’s little helper. Well, that's about all for now. Like I said we will have more to post on within the next week as so much is happening. Until then we hope that each of you are able to have a wonderful and safe holiday.
