Tee Ball

Well, Katelyn started t-ball this past weekend... I'm not to sure if she is going to be a ball player or not :-( Let's just say watching a bunch of 5/6 year olds try to play baseball is the funniest thing ever! They are so cute and little that it is so fun. Katelyn's first game is this saturday - we'll have to see how it goes. She is happy that she gets to wear her pink glove and use her very own pink bat:-) Well, at least maybe she will look cute if nothing else!!!

The school week got better as the week went on... Today Day 5 week 2, she didn't cry once!!! I think she is starting to get use to it. Plus I think it helped that Justin went back to work today, so she dosen't feel like she is missing out on something with the two of us:-) Here are some pictures from the school week...

Day 5

1st day of school

Okay, well I am glad it is done and over with... first she was not happy about going, then she was scared about meeting new people and worried that no one who like her... the entire morning she CRIED!!! We went to walk out the door and go to the bus stop and she wiped her tears and put a real smile on her face and had a blast with the kids!!! Justin and I followed the bus to school so we could get some more pictures and see our little girl off! After school she wanted to play instead of come home and tell us about it. For dinner that night we met our friends for dinner so the girls could play! The first week is now over and she is doing somewhat better! I hope she starts to like school soon - she loved it last year.

Happy Birthday Katelyn

Happy Birthday Katelyn…. I cannot believe that Katelyn is five years old now! It seems like just yesterday she was learning to walk; now she is this independent little girl. It has been an amazing journey so far and I cannot wait to see what the next 15 years will be like :-)

The day started by Justin going to the store and buying Katelyn her favorite chocolate doughnuts, so when she woke up we surprised her with them. Then of course Justin showed her where her presents were and she quickly opened them up. After that we were off to the park to play for awhile. Earlier in the week Katelyn was asked what she wanted to do for her birthday (since her party was last weekend) and she said she wanted her friends Erin, Jade and Taylor to come over and play… so that is what we did! Along with the three girls Jack, Maddie, and Heather also came over and played for awhile. Katelyn sure was busy and had an amazing day with her friends – it ended up being just the kind of day she wanted. We would like to thank everyone for the birthday wishes, cards and wonderful presents. They all meant a lot to Katelyn. I am sorry for those of you she didn’t talk to, she isn’t much of a phone person, but I promise if you would have been able to see her face when she read the card, or opened the presents, and/or heard your voice on the phone she was truly excited and felt very special. So again thank you very much!

Yesterday at school Katelyn took treats in for her class. She helped me make ice cream cone cupcakes. Layla made the frosting and I was able to put it on so it looked like vanilla ice cream. We also took ice cream and topping so the kids could make sundaes. It was fun and again Katelyn had a blast sharing the day with her friends, I think she liked the fact that it gave me a reason to go to school with her too :-) We made it kind of like a celebration of her last day of being four! She had fun with it and kept saying to me that “it’s okay mom even though I am going to be 5, I will still be your little girl – I promise”. It’s amazing to us sometimes that how this little person can have so much of her own personality and know how to use it at the right times! We sure are going to have our hands full!

Again I would like to say Happy Birthday to Katelyn!

We hope each of you have a safe and fun holiday weekend…
