End of Jan/beginning of Feb

Okay, let me tell you a story about our precious four year old daughter… Last week as I mentioned there was a school dance. Well, we went but the day before and even that day she was adamant that she wanted to wear a dress – even though it was a super bowl dance and the recommended attire was jersey’s ect. She couldn’t fall asleep on Thursday because all she could think about was what her friends were going to wear and what she could wear. Friday morning she convinced me to call Ms. Melissa so I could ask her what her girls were going to be wearing. Melissa of course started laughing saying “her girls hadn’t even talked about that yet”. Seriously what kind of 4 year old worries about what her friends are wearing – We are in for a LONG VERY LONG road ahead of us if it is already starting! When we got to the dance she immediately made me go to the dance floor with her where she instantly began dancing and shaking her little booty. It was so funny. Then when her friends arrive she looked at me and said “mom you can go now, I’ll be fine”. Again, are you kidding me? She’s only four! Well, needless to say Justin and I were nearby but also let her have a little space with her friends. She had a wonderful time. I think Justin did too, because he and Ed talked the whole evening – I think I even saw a smile on his face a few times. Justin is excited that Ed is into NASCAR so he has guy to watch the races with.

After the dance Hailey came over to spend the night. Katelyn was so tired that she fell asleep around 10:00 Hailey, on the other hand had a hard time sleeping! On Saturday Justin stayed home with the girls while I ran around to get the remaining things for the super bowl party. Sunday for the big game we had a lot of fun. There was once again WAY TO MUCH FOOD. We only had a few people over because some weren’t sure if we were doing it or not and with Justin not being at work it dramatically reduced the number of people who came. But hey that’s okay because the ones that were here were some of our best friends from around here and it was good to be able to relax and enjoy the game and company without a lot of stress. I do have to tell you how much food we had: meatballs, ham rolls, nacho’s & cheese, buffalo tenders, chicken tenders, chili cheese dip, cheese tray, veggie tray, fruit tray, salami & pepperoni tray, crackers, chips, 7 layer dip, cake, cupcakes, chips & salsa, pretzels , & candy. I cannot remember it all but it was truly way to much. I do have to say that I was able to have the house cleaned up and put back to its original way before 11:00! Of course Justin, Bert and Kristin were making fun of me for it, but hey I didn’t have to do anything when I woke up on Monday but put the dishes in the dishwasher away – and Justin did that!

Not much has happened this week. Katelyn went to the doctor’s on Wednesday because she wasn’t feeling good and with her friends being sick we wanted to have her checked before it got worse. The doctor’s appointment was a joke (and I am glad Justin was able to witness firsthand the ridiculousness of the place) it took longer for them to check/take her vitals than it did for the doctor to be in the room with us. She is still fighting off the virus but she is doing better. Justin had a whole week without and appointments (thank goodness)so it was kind of just a lazy week. Although last Friday we did go see the CG doctor and she officially put him on convalescent leave and will continue to give him leave until after his surgery. As of right now the surgery is still set for the 27th and it is still going to be the fusion. But the neurologist is still thinking it is in his brain and Justin has his MRI of his brain on Monday. I must say he is now officially going stir crazy. He hates not working and it is driving him nuts. Connie, gave Justin about 20 recommendations to keep him busy, but unfortunately Justin is not to interested in learning to knit:)

Justin is a little more sad this week because Larry is graduating from Flight school on Friday and we were going to be there for it, but with his appointments and current condition we are not going to be able to make it. For those of you who don’t remember Larry and Jen are our good friends from NC and we have been planning on attending his graduation since he left for flight school 2 ½ years ago. His graduation is in Pensacola Florida and will be moving out west and we don’t know when we will get a chance to see them again Also we were going to stay in Florida and visit family because Megan Conley is getting married on the 21st there and it gave us time to spend with Larry, family and make Megan’s wedding all in one trip. But again with everything going on we can’t make it to her wedding either. So Justin gets a little sad when he thinks about all the stuff he is missing (both big and small things).

Larry and Megan we are truly sorry that we will not be able to attend your big days coming up (13th and the 21st). Believe us we would much rather be there celebrating and having a good time with you, our family and friends. Please know that we love you guys and that we are there in spirit. Congratulations have fun and enjoy the day/celebrations. Don’t worry we’ll call and talk to you before, on, and after your big day!

To everybody else… thank you! Thanks for being good friends, checking in on us and adding us to your prayers. We appreciate it and we think of you often. Make sure you keep us updated on things going on in your lives. Well take care and be safe.
